I finally had the chance to taste @paolonenci his wines. I interviewed him and his brother in October and got so inspired by their story. They took over the business from their grandfather and modernised it.

Located in the heart of Tuscany near Mount Venere their wines are inspired by the beauty and the fertility of Venus. They go by names as Passione di Venere, Bacio di Venere, Lacrime di Venere.

Their rosé of 100% Sangiovese won the second prize at the 2020 Rosé Pink Festival and is so delicate, elegant with beautiful minerality, it was finished in the blink of an eye😂

This picture was inspired by the birth of Venus by Boticelli. I hope you like it!

One more thing!! Paolo is a always a pioneer and he organised the first ever virtual wine tasting on Clubhouse on the 4th of March, 21.30 Italy time. If you live in Italy you are still in time to order his wines, if you live abroad just join the session, I will be there too!

How much did the world change in just one year time! Also for me personally so much has changed. From travelling once a month to travelling once in the last year. I became a real homebody!

I can’t believe not even two weeks ago I was buried in snow and today was such a sunny day! I am looking forward to spring more than ever!

A three course dinner entirely from the barbecue! Guest blogger Joost @jjan1981 went for a winter BBQ with the theme: French fine dining.

His menu:
• Toasted brioche bread, a delicious piece of slow-cooked Wagyu beef topped with a spoonful of caviar from @persiancaviar and a quail yolk.
🍾
Matched with a Blanc de noirs Brut Veuve A. Devaux.
• Sous-vide cooked duck breast fillet with herbs, grilled on the BBQ. A gravy of smoked plums and a creamy mousseline of Jerusalem artichoke served with roasted yellow tomato. Finished with a vene cress and a crunch of roasted hazelnut.

Matched with a Barolo, from the house Il Pozzo (DOCG 2014).
• Chocolate moulleux with orange zest and cinnamon.

Have you ever dreamed of harvesting grapes in the South of Italy together with a local family? I certainly have!

The grapes she harvested were Nero di Troia, an ancient varietal almost exclusively found in Puglia. It’s a grape with lots of finesse that after disappearing almost completely now is making its comeback!

What a (spicy) journey it has been! Exactly one year ago I was sitting on my couch and posted the first pictures on this account. I was a bit nervous of how people would react to me since the wine world isn’t known to be all too progressive and my first picture, was me, naked, in a bath of grapes 😅

I had my feed planned out, I had my own preset, my website was in the air, my webshop too. I was postponing the moment to post day by day, changing the order of the pictures I was going to post, waiting for the perfect moment.

A long story short, I grew some BALLS and just started. (Full TEDtalk is in my stories 😉)

One year later I want to take the opportunity to THANK YOU all so much for encouraging me every single day to keep spicing it up in here. Seriously this community brings me so much joy and motivates me to keep reinventing myself, just to make you laugh, inspire you and teach you something about our mutual passion: WINE.

2. Luscious, velvety, smooth.

Yesterday chef @yanivlenga and I organised one of our food and wine sessions, preparing for the private dinners that we will organise in the future (we will be available for booking at your house, get in touch for more info) and it was an awesome edition!
