Last week I teamed up with Israeli chef @yanivleng

Last week I teamed up with Israeli chef @yanivlenga to create a beautiful dinner inspired by Israel and Italy, with different wine pairings, that we hope to serve to food and wine lovers in better times.

The menu:
Parmesan soup with bacon, croutons and chives.
Jerusalem bagel with mazes to share.
Pulpo with yogurt ,chorizo, and matbucha.
Ricotta gnocchi with lamb shoulder marinated with israeli spices.
Rose water panacota with coconut and basil.

We paired it beautifully with Israeli and Italian wines from @rayleighandramsay . The mazes with a dry Zibibbo were a great match. The lamb got accompanied by a Barbaresco and the panna cotta matched fantastically with a frozen Gewürztraminer from Israel.

Yay! We’re half way through Dry January so here are two alcohol free wines that didn’t suck!

As many of you know by now I am participating in Dry January. I get a lot of questions about my motives (I think it’s easier to announce you’re joining a sect 😂) so I guess I owe you an explanation.
Why I am doing Dry January.
1. Because I feel like it.

Now the important part. A life without wine sucks big time. I have tried some alternatives in the past and wasn’t too excited. My search went on!
The Riesling on the picture available @rayleighandramsay was recommended by @addmorewine and I love it! It has a typical Riesling aroma in the nose, I would recognise it in a blind tasting. The wine is a bit off-dry which fits the Riesling well and isn’t annoying. I’m on my second glass, as we speak ✌🏽
The Pas du tout is a sparkling wine available @grapedistrict from the Provence. A blend of Chardonnay, ugni blanc and Airen. I’m a bit less excited about this one than the Riesling but honestly it’s a great version of a non alcoholic sparkling wine. Would buy again!

Don’t kill me if these wines aren’t available where you live but nowadays with the post being slow I try to get my wines in the neighbourhood. Also if you have any recommendations for the next 15 days, lemme know 😉

2020- Out with a BANG!

This last year was... how shall I call it... Different. I could sum up all the things I couldn’t do this year. The countries I couldn’t travel to, the friends I couldn’t meet, the parties, the dinners, the trips I missed. You get the point. We all had to miss out on a lot!

Instead I want to express my sincere gratitude for all the lessons I have learned this year, the patience I discovered in me I never knew of. The perseverance I found to go after my dreams. The inner peace to stay in my house every day without a complaint.

I’m grateful for the amazing wines I got to discover and the special wine lovers I met inside this community. Thank you for accepting me as one of you and celebrating this party called life with me!

I wish you all the best in 2021. May you listen to your inner voice and go after all it is you want and may you have the courage to look fear in the face and say: Hey! I won’t let you stop me. No matter what. And of course may your year be full of the most beautiful wines!
